Supporting Recreation in Libby!
Profits from this event will be donated to help support the Libby Pedal Track Project at Pioneer Park organized by LORA(Libby Outdoor Recreation Association.
What is a Pedal Track?
A relatively flat track that runs in a loop. A pedal track is designed for riders age from 4 to 10 years of age. It will have a starting point, some built-in skill challenges, small hills and dips with a dirt track surface. The track will fit in a rectangle approximately 200 feet by 150 feet. A more challenging track is a Pump Track - that will have higher hills and more banked turns for older more skilled riders (planned for a future
time and place).
Where is the proposed location for this project?
Pioneer Park is a Lincoln County Park. The Pedal Track will belong to the Libby Park District and will be maintained by volunteers. The LORA group will organize the operation of the facility.
Will the project be completed in 2024?
The timeline to complete the facility is summer of 2024. LORA has been working with a design/builder and should have a preliminary design by the first part of June along with an estimated project cost.
What are the estimated costs of this project?
The conceptual cost is around $15,000.
What help is needed to make the project a success?small earthwork equipment
large (2 to 3 foot) rocks to be used as structure on the corners
fill dirt (clay)
money to pay the contractor
signs with posted guidelines
volunteers to support the work effort
